William Carter

William Herman "Toots" Carter, 91, of Concord, NC passed away Friday, April 2, 2021.

Toots was born November 17, 1929 in Concord, NC a son of the late Dan R. Carter and the late Mary J. Carter.
He was also preceded in death by wife, Marion B Carter; brother, John Carter; brother, Robert Carter; sister, Kathleen "Kat" Hess; and sister, Helen "Bob" Kepley.

Survivors include son, Thomas Carter and wife Dianne of Midland, NC; son, Jeff Carter and wife Terri of Concord, NC;  stepson, Dale Glen Rodia of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Whitney, Amber, Jordan and Alexis; twin great grandsons, Lucas and Finn; and his faithful dog Rover.

Toots was employed by Cannon Mills for 46 years during his work career.  He was a member of Center United Methodist Church.  In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.  He will be remembered for his gentle sprit and will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, April 5th at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1119 Union St. South in Concord, officiated by Rev. Chuck Hensley and Rev. Tony Allen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Center United Methodist Church.
