Shirley Taylor

Shirley Love Taylor, 87, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 25, 2023, after a long battle with dementia.

Shirley was born November 14, 1935, to the late Ernest and Margaret Love.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, V.H. “Bill” Taylor, who passed in 2011.

Shirley was a loving wife, aunt, and grandmother.  She loved to work in her yard and was very proud of her flowers.  She won the best yard in Cabarrus County numerous times.  She loved spending time with her family more than anything.  She was a member of Pitts Baptist Church.

Survivors include her brother, Larry Love of Harrisburg.  She had two nieces who were more like “daughters” to her and loved her as their second mother, Angela Love Nixon (Darren) and Regina Love Osborne (David), both of Harrisburg, NC, and two stepchildren who she loved as her own, Ted Taylor (Alice) of Atlanta, Georgia and JoAnn Brunson (Frank) of Columbia, SC.  Four grandchildren, David Tandarich, Heather Osborne (Wesley), Jordan Nixon and Peyton Nixon, and four step-grandchildren, Chris Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Kenzie Newton and Retta Lesley.  She also had seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 Hartsell Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, officiated by Rev. Scott Davis.  Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Concord.
