Robert "Dooney" Lowder

Robert  "Dooney" Henry Lowder, 86, of Charlotte, NC passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at Sharon Towers in Charlotte.

Dooney was born August 17, 1935 in Richmond, VA to the late Robert P. Lowder and the late Elease Butler Lowder.

The private graveside service to celebrate his life will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Stanly Gardens of Memory, 2001 E. Main St., Albemarle.

He is survived by his loving sister, Shirley Lowder Plyler of Marion, NC; nieces, Cynthia (Jorge) Cervantes of Plantation, FL, and Dr. Jennifer Plyler of Asheville; great-niece, Victoria M. Cervantes; and  great-nephew, Jorge F. Cervantes, Jr.

Dooney was a loving brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend to many. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and had a fulfilling sales career with RT French, where proudly earned top salesperson for eight years. After retiring, he started his own food brokerage company, Robert Lowder and Associates. Dooney proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He had a charismatic personality and will be missed by all who knew him.
