Phyllis Lawhorn

Phyllis Lawhorn, 90, of Concord, peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday July 29,2020.

Phyllis was born in Bedford County, Virginia to the late Jewell and Leafy Barton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Calvin Carl Lawhorn and one brother.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 on Sunday, August 2, 2020. A service will follow in the chapel at 3:00pm. officiated by Rev. Tim Newton. Burial will be at The Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton, VA.

Remaining family include two daughters and son in laws, Pam and Scott Sauer, Joyce and Chuck Thompson, grandchildren Kim and Chris Sexton, great-grand daughter Amelia, two brothers and their wives Leighton & Judy Barton and Stratton & and Jody Barton.

Phyllis loved Jesus, her church and family. She volunteered in community hospitals and as a small group leader with Bible Study Fellowship when living in Atlanta. She loved people, gardening, bird watching and cooking for family gatherings. She was a supportive and encouraging  advisor and friend to all that met her.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who lovingly assisted with her care,and became close friends along the way. Words cannot express our gratitude to these angels that God provided for our family in her last years.

Memorials can be sent to Hospice of Cabarrus County.
