Peggy Smith

Peggy Bell Smith, 93, of Clayton, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Peggy was born May 31, 1928, in Carroll, GA to the late Walter Clarence Bell, Sr. and the late Flossie Jones Bell.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Julian Smith; brother, Walter Clarence Bell, Jr.; as well as sisters, Melissa Bell Rawls, Freida Bell McLaurin and Hilda Gray.  Her sister Pat Kimmer survives her.

The funeral service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held on Friday, September 17th, at 11:00am in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, at 13575 Broadway Ave., Midland, NC 28107, officiated by her nephew Dougald McLaurin.  Burial will follow in the Oakboro Cemetery.  Due to the ongoing pandemic, masks will be encouraged during her services.
