Maylon Gray Cooke, 70, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at home with family by his side.
Maylon was born April 20, 1951 in Franklin County, NC to the late Maylon Perry Cooke and Dorothy Marie Ferguson Cooke.
Maylon is a proud graduate of NC State University. Go Wolfpack! Maylon was a retired sales representative with Industrial Power Sales, Raleigh. He was honored to serve as an officer in the NC National Guard. He loved walking his dog, beach music, traveling, and fishing. He enjoyed investing and watching CNBC and NASCAR. Most of all, Maylon was a loving husband, dad, son, brother and Pawpaw. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm, Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service in celebration of Maylon's life will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Don Burleyson. It will be webcast on the funeral home website for those that may not be able to attend in person. A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home.
In addition to his mother, survivors include the love of his life for 27 years, wife, Terry Harris Cooke of Charlotte, NC; son, Matthew Gray Cooke and wife, Vanessa, of Raleigh, NC; step-daughter, Amy Werley and husband, Nate, of Charlotte, NC; step-son, Andy Wagner and wife, Karen, of Rockwell, NC; sister, Cathy McKee and husband, Joel, of Charlotte, NC; brother, Jerry Cooke and partner, Kim, of Parrish, FL; brother, Stanley Cooke of Rolesville, NC; grandchildren, Alex and Jonathan Helms and Kane Wagner; nephews, Carson and Skylar McKee; and beloved dog, Bo.
