Max Snuggs

Max Ray Snuggs, 82, of Concord, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at Preston House Memory Care in Charlotte.

Max was born October 2, 1939 in Albemarle, North Carolina to the late Henry Alec Snuggs and the late Vada Viola Smith Snuggs. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Elsie Greene, Trudie Griffin, and Broyce Moose.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Parkwood Baptist Church-Concord. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Drive NW, Concord, officiated by Rev. Michael Waters. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park at Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, Concord.

Max was a graduate of Albemarle High School, and of Chicago Technical College.  He was employed first as a draftsman with Cannon Mills Company and then attained the position of Senior Designer at Duke Power, Duke Energy, and Duke Engineering and Services.  He enjoyed and excelled at his work and worked on numerous projects designing steam, hydro, and nuclear power plants.  Max was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a devout Christian and Baptist and served as a deacon at numerous churches.  Max and his loving wife, Gail, felt the compassion to visit nursing homes, weekly, to minister to the residents, and were involved in this ministry for over 20 years.

Survivors include wife of 58 years, Virginia Gail Snuggs of Concord, NC; son, John Rowland (Jana) Snuggs of Concord, NC; daughter, Paula (Jeff) Dulin of Indian Trail, NC; grandchildren, Sarah Snuggs, Henry Harrison Snuggs, Kelly Dulin, Ben Dulin, and Lindsey Dulin.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church missions projects.
