Marilyn Mclaughlin

Marilyn Doris Kranz McLaughlin, 75, of Concord, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 19, 2021.

Marilyn was born September 5, 1946, in Syracuse, New York, to the late Edward Kranz and the late Marie Hatter Kranz.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jack Hudson.

She was loved by many, an avid book reader and loved crossword puzzles.  She never met a stranger.  Most of all, she loved her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandbabies with all her heart. She was a Wife, Mom, Gramma & GG to us.  We love her & she will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm, Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service in celebration of Marilyn's life will follow at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Tony Johnson, Marilyn's grandson.

Survivors include Marilyn's beloved husband of 55 years, Robert McLaughlin, of the home; daughter, Melissa McLaughlin, of the home; daughter, Kim McLaughlin, of Liverpool, NY; sister, Janice Kranz, of Washington State; sister-in-law, Barbara Hudson, of N. Syracuse, NY; sister-in-law, Marilyn McLaughlin, of Port Byron, NY; her beloved grandchildren, Tony Johnson (Onesha Stevenson), Crystal Johnson,  Lynn Brammer, Justin Grant and Anthony McLaughlin; her beloved great-grandchildren, Amiyah Johnson-High, McKenzie Groves, Harmony Johnson,  London and Paris Johnson-Pelton, Rome Pelton, Chase and Chance Johnson, and Andrew "AJ" Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to CVAN thrift store (543 Concord Pkwy N, Concord, NC 28027) for battered and abused women.  Cash, clothing, shoes, books, and furniture are all welcome.
