Buford Huneycutt, age 72, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Novant Health with pneumonia and COVID.
He was born in Charlotte, NC to the late Boone Huneycutt and Christine Thomas Huneycutt of Stanfield, NC. He leaves behind his son, Rodney Huneycutt; grandson, Eli Huneycutt; twin brother, Boyd Huneycutt and wife Sheryl; and countless friends.
He grew up in Stanfield and attended West Stanly High and studied at Charlotte Barber College He was a barber for the past 52 years. He worked at Bella & Guy Salon of Matthews, and Buford & Roberts Tree Service with his son, Rodney. He was a lifelong member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Stanfield, NC and in recent years attended First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, NC.
The family would like to thank all the health care professionals from Novant Main OR, ICU, COVID ICU and COVID 3rd floor for their great care in the last few weeks of his life.
Buford loved life and will be remembered by many for his faith in God, his love for family and friends, listening to gospel music, haircuts at the barber shop, fishing on Cheerio Lady, cooking, homemade BBQ sauce, football games, delicious fish fries, fixing Thanksgiving turkeys, his big smile, generosity, his many years of rest home visits to cut hair for those who couldn't travel, his caring heart and kind spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you give a gift to someone in need.
Buford has requested to be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea.
His request will be honored with a private service at a later date.
