Keith Eugene Smith, Sr., 69, of Charlotte, NC passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020.

Keith was born January 2, 1951 in Concord, NC to the late Kennith Darewood Smith and the late Jane "Evelyn" Huneycutt Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Mary Smith of the home; son, Keith E. Smith, Jr.; daughter, Keeley Smith Ward and husband Chad; grandsons, Jackson and Cooper Ward; sister, Susan Carter and husband Craig; as well as many loving extended family members.

Keith graduated from Central Cabarrus High School in 1969 and from the University of NC Chapel Hill in May of 1973 with a degree in business. He immediately began his career as the manager of the Blackwelder Furniture Store in Newton. He later became an independent furniture sales representative residing in Cape Cod, New Bern, Santee, and in Charlotte. He enjoyed watching civil war shows on the history channel and especially loved watching Tarheel basketball. His love for records followed the motto, you can never have too many vinyl records.
