Jimmy Arlen Thompson, 87. of Richfield, NC was called peacefully to his heavenly home. He passed on April 30, 2021 at Trinity Place which had been his "home away from home" for the past four years.

Jim was born in Albemarle on September 3, 1933, to the late Jasper Colon Thompson and Grace Lucas Thompson. At an early age he was taught to love God and others. He retired after 15 years of service from Hartsell Funeral Home as a Funeral Assistant.

His extended family included all the Miller Family, wonderful friends and neighbors. Jim will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Jim fought a valiant, courageous six year battle with Parkinson's Disease. He overcame many obstacles along the way. At Trinity Place he was known as "a Tough Bird". Jim loved his Lord, family, and friends. He wanted to help anyone he could. He had a keen sense of humor, excellent work ethics, and he took pride in a "job well done". Fishing was his hobby and passion!!  He loved God's creation and being outdoors!
