Obituary

Jerry Guyton Meacham, 84, of Locust, NC passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Jerry was born March 4, 1938 in Mount Gilead, NC to the late Charlie Walker Meacham and the late Emma Poole Meacham.

 
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Todd Meacham; brother, Walker Poole Meacham; sister, Bonna Lynn Meacham Hathcock; sister, Marceil Meacham Freeman; brother, Bruce Burton Meacham; sister, Eris Meacham Smith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Janie Tedder Meacham of the home; son, Michael Scott Meacham of Locust, NC; son, Ryan Elliot Meacham and wife Cynthia of Monroe, NC; granddaughter, Elizabeth Meacham of Wilmington, NC; grandson, Alexander Meacham of Monroe, NC; grandson, Jonathan Meacham of Monroe, NC; and grandson, Nathan Meacham of Monroe, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Friday, August 5, 2022 at Lee Park Baptist Church, 2491 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Steve Jirgal.  Burial and military honors will take place at Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery, 3601 Sikes Mill Rd., Monroe, NC following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
