Jan Porter

Jan Thompson Porter, 57, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021.

Mrs. Porter was born June 25, 1964 in West Virginia to William D. and Shelvia Jarrett Thompson.

A long term employee of Wells Fargo, Jan worked in several departments and made many close friends on her job.  Another important part of her life was her involvement in her kid’s sports, where she also developed many close relationships with other parents.  Jan was diagnosed with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, in February of 2015.  True to her fighting spirit, she exceeded expectations and lived with the terrible disease for seven years.

In addition to her parents, Jan is survived by her husband, Chris; son, Garrett; daughter, Allison; brother Jeff and his wife Linda of Charleston WV.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 2:00 pm, at Hartsell Funeral Home, 12115 University City Blvd. Harrisburg.
