Jan Forte

Jan Ballard Forte passed away on January 6, 2021. She was born January 24, 1954 to Alfred L. Ballard and Mae Rose Russell Ballard of Albemarle.

She is predeceased by her parents, her precious son, Amos Russell Forte, and father in law, Richard "Dick" Forte.

She is survived by the love of her life, Russell Forte of the home, her sister, Amy (Ed) Brinson, her mother in law, Doris Forte, and her special canine companion, Rosey, who stayed by her side until the end. She is also survived by many special cousins, a niece and nephew, and great-nephews and a great-niece.

She was an educator with Stanly County Schools for over 30 years. She touched the lives of so many students and their families. Many times, former students and families would come and speak with her and she treasured those times. She quickly gained the respect of her students, and they would know what she expected of them in the classroom.

Jan actively attended the Community Church of Mt. Pleasant. She was a friend to many, always willing to help others in any way that she could. Jan was a very special person who put the needs of others above her own. She was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

A public viewing will be held from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle, family will not be present. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am at Fairview Memorial Park at 1425 East Main Street, Albemarle, officiated by David Snow and Trent Drye, with burial following.
