Irma Lee Childers Kendall of Greenwood, Mississippi and Concord, North Carolina died on January 5, 2022 in Concord, North Carolina.

Irma was born on August 14, 1927 in Rienzi, Mississippi to Lillie Mae Maness Childers and William Houston Childers.

Irma loved to garden and grow flowers. She especially loved her roses that she affectionately named after friends and family. She came from very humble beginnings, and suffered great loss along the way. Yet she navigated life with determination and a great sense of humor.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Carol) Kendall of Greenwood, Mississippi and Jim (Vickie) Kendall of Danville Arkansas; daughter, Linda (John) James of Concord, North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Kendall of Russellville, Arkansas; sister, Ellen (Jimmy) Brock of Dardanelle, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Ondean Childers of Magee, Mississippi; and grandchildren, Kim Dodson, Jett Kendall, Larry “Buddy” Kendall,  Jeffrey Kendall, Brian Kendall, Daniel Kendall, Alex Kendall, and William James. Twenty-seven great-grandchildren, seventeen great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.W. Kendall; son, Larry Wayne Kendall; two granddaughters, Ann Sanford and Michelle Smith; niece, Donna Kendall Reid; brothers, Curtis Childers, Tom Childers, and Marvin Childers; sisters, Pauline Nash and Mary Burnham.

A memorial service is being planned in Mississippi for a later date.
