Hazel Mullis

Hazel Nancy Greene Mullis, 93 years of age, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Hospice of Union County.

Hazel was born April 21, 1921 in Union County to the late Albert Clyde Greene and the late Ollie Drake Greene. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Hoyle Marshall Mullis, and second husband of nine years, Daniel Wilson Long; grandson, Isaac Marshall Early; brothers, Frank and Tommy Greene; and sisters, Elma Simpson, Doris Tallent, Bessie Cook and Jackie Butler.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church, 6223 Love Mill Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Joey Query and Rev. Lee Davis will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church in Monroe. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will also lie in state from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday, December 22, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland.

She is survived by her daughters, Renee (Randy) Early of Marshville, and Diane (Jim) Brandes of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Chris, Lee, Penny, Melanie, Matthew, Evan and Taylor; 14 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; and brothers, Ned Greene and Bobby (Peggy) Greene all of Monroe.
