Guy Dyar

Guy Welchel Dyar, 97, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Mr. Dyar was born October 29, 1923 in Georgia to the late Guy and Edith Cox Dyer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Dyar and son, Steven Wallace Dyar.

Guy served in the United States Army during WWII as a member of the special core of engineers. He was a faithful follower of Christ and a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, September 20, 2021 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, 522 N. 2nd Street, Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Bill Baldwin.

A memorial service will also be held at Mr. Dyar's home church, St. Luke UMC, 5115 Brookwood Dr., Mableton, GA 30126 on  Saturday, September 25, 2021.  Contact church for details.

Guy is survived by his daughter, Edith Johnson and adopted family members, John and Mandy Scardina and family.
