Glenda Lee

Glenda Dianna Lee was born on November 24, 1949, in Elizabeth New Jersey to the late Eddie McClendon and late Dorothy Mae Wooten.  Glenda was a long-time resident of Linden until she retired in 2015, afterward she relocated with her husband to Concord, North Carolina.

Glenda was employed as a paraprofessional with Linden Board of Education for 25 years.  Previously she worked for Haynes Security in Newark New Jersey and B.Z. in Linden New Jersey.

As a child, Glenda attended First Baptist Church with family in Linden New Jersey.  Glenda was educated within the Linden school system and received her high school diploma in 1969.

On December 9th, 1972, Glenda married Howard E Lee Jr.  Their union lasted almost 50 wonderful years from which they were blessed with four children: Melissa, Kimberly, Lisa, and Howard III.

Glenda enjoyed a plethora of activities and hobbies in her free time, some of which include volunteering with the local Girl Scouts, being an advent reader, bowling, arts and crafts, word searches, television viewing (Perry Mason was her favorite program to watch) just to name a few.

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her husband Howard; 2 brothers: Gary McClendon and David McClendon (Joy); a sister Yvonne; 5 children Melissa Lee, Kimberly Lawson (James), Lisa Alexander (Donald), Howard (Tia), Melissa Dawson (Marvin); 13 grandchildren, Ricky, Jasmine, Dontae, Deziré, Danté, Donald Jr, Diondra, Jovon, Jeremiah, Joel, Donyé, Olivia and Damien; 9 great grandchildren, Joshua, Cayden, Malaki, Keyani, Monica, Rhyan, Summer, Sadie and RJ, along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Friday at 12:30 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord in Concord officiated by Rev. Paul E. Young. Burial will follow at the West Lawn Memorial Park  at 1350 S. Main St., China Grove.

As per the family's request, we will require all guests to wear face masks to any and all services.  If you arrive without the required face masks, the family shall provide one for you.
