Gary Purser

Gary Michael “Bud” Purser, 67 of Union County passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Purser was born October 19, 1945 in Monroe, NC to the late Henry Paul Purser and Flonnie May Funderburk Purser; one brother, Richard and one sister, Carolyn. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, at Shiloh Advent Christian Church, 3601 Sikes Mill Road Monroe, N.C. 28110. Rev. George Gouge and Rev. Travis Hutchinson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Helms Purser and son Stephen Michael Purser of the home, Monroe; brothers, Henry and wife, Juanita, Rondal and wife Eloise, Douglas and wife, Nancy, Raymond, Keith, Kenneth and wife, Debbie of Monroe; sisters, Sandra Carriker, Ann Honeycutt of Monroe, and Pamela Hughes and husband, John, of Lenoir.
