Edward Timberlake Iii

Edward  Lee Timberlake, III, 68, of Concord, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ed was born June 15, 1952 in North Carolina to the late Edward Lee Timberlake, Jr. and Sarah Frances Lassiter Timberlake. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bill Timberlake.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Friday, May 7, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 3:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Robert E. Palisin and Pastor John Muse.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Bonnie Sue Phillips Timberlake; brothers, Charles (Jean) Timberlake, Frank Timberlake; sons, Lee (Michele) Timberlake, Bill Timberlake; daughter, Stacey (Cale) Lambert; grandchildren, Hayden and Spencer Lambert, Talen Hinesley and Tendel Timberlake; and nieces and nephews, Sara, Elizabeth, Charles, John Michael, Shelby, and Kendall.

Ed had a passion for flying, and was proud of  his aviation career. He was a  private and commercial pilot and manager for the Federal Aviation Administration at the Department of Transportation. He was also a beloved DJ, who knew just the right songs to make people happy and dance. He was an active member of Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church. Ed had a sunny disposition and could always make people laugh.
