Dwight Love

Dwight Allen Love, 72, of Granite Falls, passed away on October 9, 2020 at the Caromont Health Hospital in Gastonia, NC.

He was born on November 15, 1947 to Charles and Aileen (Sossamon) Love in Concord, NC. He graduated from West Stanly High school in 1966, first in his class. Dwight worked as a Salesperson for a number of years selling wide variety of things. He loved to help others and to be of service to whomever he could.  On April 28th, 2001 he married Carol Elaine Lewis In Cherry Grove, SC. Dwight and Elaine later lived in Granite Falls, NC the rest of his life.

He was a member of the U. S Air Force which he served for 4 years and he was also a Vietnam Veteran. His devotion to his country and family was steadfast.

Dwight is survived by his loving spouse of 19 beautiful years Elaine; brother, David Love; son, Jeremy Love; three daughters, Jessica Love, Rachel Alexander, Brittany McPherson; two son-in-laws, Daniel Alexander, Anthony McPherson; daughter-in-law, Jill Delaine Love; and seven beautiful grandkids which he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by father, Charles Aubrey Love and mother, Aileen Rae Love.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020, at 2:00 pm, at the Oakboro Cemetery, Oakboro, NC, with Pastor Rob Evans officiating.
