Donald "Donnie" Munson, Sr.

Donald "Donnie" Lee Munson Sr. 75, of Concord, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Donnie was born April 12, 1947 in Concord, North Carolina to the late Fronties William Munson and the late Yoular Jane Munson.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers Billy and Wayne Munson; and sister Diane Yow.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 2:00 pm at Bright Light Baptist Church in Concord officiated by Pastor Kevin Munson, Pastor Daniel Buchanan, and Preacher Mike Almond. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery at 331 Union Cemetery Rd SW, Concord.

Donnie was a loving husband, father, and Pawpaw.  He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Albemarle, N.C. where he was a choir and congregational leader.  Donnie also went on several church missions around the USA. He was known for being a life-long Carolina Tarheel Fan. One of Donnie's favorite pastimes was working in the garden, but most of all spending time with his family.  Donnie was happily married to his wife Brenda for over 50 years, but after having endured an extended illness, Donnie has gone on to be with the Lord whom he loves dearly.

Survivors include wife, Brenda Kay Munson of Concord, NC, sons, Kevin (Amy) Munson and Donald Munson Jr., grandchildren, Caleb, Joshua, Leah, Andrew, and Samuel; brother Bobby Munson; and sister Bonnie (Roger) Kennedy.
