Darrell was a United States Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. He retired from Alcoa and was a member of the 25-year club. He was a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a man of few words,
but those words were worth listening to.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Efird.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held for family.  Reverend Gary Cox will officiate the service and burial will follow at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The Efird Family will plan to celebrate Darrell’s life at a later time.

A special thank you to the staff at Bethany Woods for their care the last few years, and to Hospice of Cabarrus County.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church.
