Cynthia Farrell

Cynthia Margaret Schaeffer Farrell, 74, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Sunday, February 21, 2021.

Cindy was born November 17, 1946 in Sumter, SC, to the late Warren Joseph Schaeffer and the late Mary Virginia Butler Schaeffer. Following the death of both parents, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Marge and Charlie Selock in Farmingdale, New York, where she graduated from Farmingdale High School in 1964. She married Douglas Farrell, raising three sons in New Jersey and moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1990.  Cindy retired after many years of service with BB&T and was of the Catholic faith.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. She also loved cooking and spending time at the beach.  Most of all, Cindy was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be forever loved and greatly missed.

Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Joseph Farrell and siblings Warren Schaeffer and Robert Selock. She is survived by three sons residing in the Charlotte area: John Robinson, Kevin and wife Lori Robinson and Sean Farrell; grandchildren, Allison Robinson, Michael Farrell, Lauren Robinson, Kinsley (Eliot) Cecil and Laurel (Bradley) Barnett, and great grandson Jake Cecil; siblings Charles (Dawn) Selock, Jim (Judy) Selock, Donna Selock, Bill (Bridget) Selock and many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:45 pm, Friday, February 26, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg.  The funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
