Carol Bennett

Carol Lynn Bennett, 73, of Monroe, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Woodridge Assisted Living in Monroe.

She was born May 29, 1946 in Queens, New York to the late Judson Volney Bennett and the late Edith Mae Bennett.

Carol served in the US Navy from 1966-1969. She was stationed at the Naval Air Station at Quonset Point, RI. After serving in the Navy she joined the Sisters of St. FRANCIS, 1971-1998. Carol received her Bachelor's degree at Scranton University and her Masters degree at Catholic University in Washington DC. Carol served  the Convent by being a middle school teacher and later as a principal. After leaving the Convent Carol worked for Carolina's Healthcare System. Carol loved singing in the Church choir at Harrisburg United Methodist Church. Her hobbies were art, gardening and spending time with her pets.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm, Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Harrisburg United Methodist Church. The memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm in the church sanctuary  and will be officiated by Pastor Toni Ruth Smith. The inurnment is private and will be at the Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg.

Survivors include sister, Gail (Thomas) Howard of Concord, NC, brother, David Judson (Cheryl) Bennett of Midland, NC, sister, Cherie (Chuck) Greene of Harrisburg, NC, sister, Martha (Joe) Pauley of Maryland; Carol is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews.
