William "Bill" Mitchell Wade passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his children and their spouses, Mike, Cindy, Tracy, and Jeep; his grandchildren and their spouses, Hailey, Brandon, Sarah, Daniel, Zach, and Lauren; and his cherished great-grandson, Noah. He also leaves behind countless extended family members, friends, colleagues, and customers whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.

Bill was born November 29, 1943 in Princeton, NC, to the late Luther Wade and the late Mary Lois Mitchell Wade. He grew up in Goldsboro, North Carolina, one of five brothers in a close-knit family. As a young man, he spent a summer performing in "The Lost Colony" outdoor drama in the Outer Banks, an experience he always remembered fondly. He also proudly served in the National Guard.

A natural salesman who truly never met a stranger, Bill built a career centered on relationships. He founded Bill Wade & Associates, earning the respect of colleagues and customers throughout the electrical industry. Over the years, he was recognized by numerous manufacturers for his dedication and service. Most recently, he was inducted into the City Electric Supply Hall of Fame in 2026, a fitting recognition of a lifetime spent serving others with integrity and enthusiasm.

Outside of work, Bill found great joy around the table with family and friends. He considered himself a barbecue expert and could happily recommend the best barbecue restaurants in Charlotte, Goldsboro, or anywhere along the road to the beach. He also loved seafood, especially mudbugs and oysters on the half shell, and never passed up dessert. A meal wasn't complete until Bill declared, "Mmm, that's good, Clark!" or, borrowing a favorite saying from GG-Ma, "I'm all full up."

To his family, he was simply G-Pa. Bill never missed an opportunity to cheer on his children and grandchildren, faithfully attending games, performances, and milestones throughout their lives. In his later years, his greatest joy became his great-grandson, Noah. Even in his final days, Bill's caring nature never faded, always making sure Noah had plenty of socks.

Bill had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome. Whether you knew him as an employer, customer, business partner, neighbor, or friend, he had a way of making every conversation feel like catching up with an old friend. His warmth, generosity, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

While his family will miss him deeply, they find comfort in the countless memories he created, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the family he treasured and in the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable life.
