William Lee Bradley, 78, of Concord, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at his residence in Concord.
Mr. Bradley was born August 16, 1944 in Massillion, Ohio to the late Charles Henry Bradley and the late Jeanette June Ellison Bradley.

William served as a Military Police officer in the Army for 2 years. After coming home, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Pamela Hoffstatter, whom he was married to for 56 years.

William served as an Ohio State Highway Patrolman for 25 years before retiring. As a State Trooper he won the State Trooper of the year in 1979 and won the Trooper of the Year at his local post in Massillon, Ohio many times. During his exemplary career he organized and restructured the way the Ohio State Patrol prosecuted and performed Drunk Driving tests and, with the troopers in his district cut the deaths caused by drunk driving in Stark County by half and that statistic has remained the same since the 1970’s.

Once he retired from the Ohio State Highway Patrol , he was asked by the Massillon Municipal Court Judge the Hon. Richard Kettler, ESQ, to bailiff for his court. William accepted and acted as Bailiff for Judge Kettler for approximately 18 years before retiring for the second time and moving with his wife and daughter to Charlotte, NC in 2012.

William, loved helping people and serving in his church, Laurel Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon for 6 years before stepping down, due to his battle with dementia. It was his greatest honor to serve God with his wife, Pam.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Laurel Baptist Church, 11801 Plaza Road Extension, Charlotte, NC 28215. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary and will be officiated by Rev. Jonathan Blankenship. The service will be livestreamed at http://www.laurelbaptistchurch.com

Survivors include wife, Pamela Hoffstatter Bradley of Concord, NC; son, William Brent Bradley, and daughter, Brandye Leigh Bradley; grandsons - Andrew Gray Bradley, Matthew Stratton Bradley and Gabriel William Bradley; his brother, Robert Dale Bradley and his wife, Kathy of Seville, Ohio; nephew, Jason and his wife Amber and son Drake Bradley; niece, Hope Bradley and her son, Justin Bradley; sister, Karen Essman and her husband Tom; niece, Shauna Franklin and her husband Scott, their daughters Kaitlyn and Ashley Franklin and nephews, Rork and Cory Essman; Also surviving are many cousins, friends and loved ones.

Memorials can be made to Laurel Baptist Church and/or Coltrane LIFE Center in Concord, NC.
