Wendy Griffin, 73, of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

Grandma Wendy

I want to tell you about a woman who my brothers,

my sister and myself were the most close to…

She’s the strongest woman we all have ever known.

She raised us and treated us like we were her own children,

and loved us exactly how we were every single day as we grew…

She always spoke words that echoed nothing but truth…

And every time we felt lost in life, she was the one

right there seeing us through…

We can’t even truly express the amount of gratitude.

We can’t even truly express the amount of inspiration.

The amount of appreciation…

And the amount of admiration…

We all hold in our hearts for this beautiful woman we all once knew.

As we and to our strength, she was the glue…

She was and is the greatest mother

and grandmother we ever knew.

The memories we now hold we will cherish all of our days,

sharing her memory with each little one who comes along,

being added to our family along the way…

Making sure every generation of ours to come remembers her name.

Because without Wendy Griffin there would

never have been a memory of any of us today…

Her name is our history…

Her name is our love…

Her spirit will forever guide us from up above.

We close her casket knowing she now gets to experience

true peace… true rest… true sleep.

We close her casket knowing she did her job here on earth

and is now free…

We close her casket but forever have the blessing

of carrying her memory.

So while we stand here not ready to say goodbye,

trying to hold back the fountain of tears that we cry…

Her beauty and grace forever embedded into our eyes…

Her voice guiding us through space and through time…

We rest easy knowing she will always be

with us the rest of our lives.
