  Walter (Sam) Morris of Concord, NC passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at home, surrounded by his loving family after a brief decline in health. He was 92 years old.

  Sam was born August 8, 1933, in Stanly County, to the late Walter Clarence Morris, and the late Cula Ferrell Morris. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Morris Morgan; son-in-law, Bill Waddington; and brother, Tony Morris.

   Sam joined the US Air Force and served for 8 years. After his service, he worked for Collins and Aikman for 40 years as a purchasing agent. He was a member of Pitts Baptist Church in Concord, NC. Sam lived a life defined by faith, family, and love. Three words that best capture his spirit are Christian, a loving Dad, and Pawpaw. He will be fondly remembered for his deep love of family and his dedicated involvement in church activities.

  Sam is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (of 73 years); daughters, Kim Waddington, and Susan Glovier (Brett); 6 grandchildren, Clint Morgan (Melissa), Audrey Ridenhour (David), Robert Waddington, Emily Nash (Jared), Sarah Kujawa (Bradley), and Samuel Glovier; 9 great grandchildren; and son in law, Gary Morgan.

  The family would like to offer a special thank you to the Hospice of Cabarrus County team for their compassionate care of Sam's final journey to his eternal home.

  A private graveside service for family will be held at Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg.

  Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg is serving the Morris family.
