Walter Mitchell

Walter Gay Mitchell, 60 years of age, of Albemarle, surrounded by his loving family went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, August 27, 2013. Walter was born November 15, 1952 in West Virginia to the late Andrew Jay Mitchell and the late Elsie Waybright Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Judy White Dewitt, Sylvia Cottrill and Elsie Baker. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Bryan Burris will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Freedom Holiness Church, Albemarle, NC. Full Military rites will be conducted following the service. He is survived by his wife, Norma Burris Mitchell of Albemarle; daughters, Bailey Mitchell of Albemarle and Cathy Hellings of Wisconson; son, Brandon Mitchell of Albemarle; step son, Mark Butler of Richfield and step daughter, Keyoka Blake of Albemarle; brothers, Dallas Mitchell of Williamsburg, VA and Clifford Mitchell of Fayetteville, NC; sisters, Clarindia Williams of Massilon, OH, Clara Mitchell of Grafton, WV and Genevieve Gates of Salt Lake City, UT. Memorials may be made to Freedom Holiness Church, 20244 Hwy. 52 South, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Mitchell family.
