Tommy Lee Newton (Bar-B-Que Man) age 65, of 4217 Sandy Lane Concord, N.C., died Friday, June 19, 2009, at CMC-Northeast in Concord, N.C. Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather. He loved God and has gone to be with his Maker. The family meeting place will be at the home of his daughter Tammy Kepley at 3801 Shadowcrest Drive, Concord. Mr. Newton was self employed as an Auctioneer & Antique Dealer and was a member of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church in Concord. Born in Cabarrus County on April 30, 1944 he was the son of the late Paul B. Newton and the late Minnie Virginia (Motley) Ennis. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son-Johnny Wayne Newton, and step father-William B. Ennis. He is survived by his wife of 48 years-Doris (Austin) Newton of the home son-Roger Dale Newton & wife Patricia of Concord, NC, son-Jerry B. Newton & wife Kimberly of Concord, NC, daughter-Tammy Newton Kepley & husband Tim of Concord, NC, half-brother-Billy G. Ennis of Concord, NC, adopted-daughter-Pat Shoe of Concord, NC, Grandchildren-Chris Deese, Roger Lee Newton, Shane Newton, Trent Newton, Heath Newton, Christy Newton, Jody Frye and Six great-grandchildren Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Concord, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, June 22, 2009. Funeral service will be at Broadus Baptist Church - Concord at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 23, 2009,following a 30 minute state. Rev. Rodney Quesenberry officiating.
