Tommy Wilson Hinson, 78, of Monroe went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Tommy was born October 5, 1946 in North Carolina to the late Everette Wildren Hinson and the late Martha Lee Kiker Hinson. He was also preceded in death by wife, Rhonda Carol Hinson and his brother, Wesley Bryan Hinson.
He was a US Army Veteran and served during Vietnam.
Tommy enjoyed being outside, mowing the grass and working in his garden. He also enjoyed singing with “The Boys” from Antioch Baptist Church many years ago. He loved working with his hands doing small engine repair but most of all he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Hopewell Baptist Church Legacy Chapel, 420 Hopewell Church Road Monroe, NC. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. officiated by Pastor Brian Austin. Burial will follow at the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Stephanie (Greg) Byrum of Monroe, Amy (Clint) Medlin of Monroe, Lisa (Lemuel) Greene of Monroe, and Kara (Chris) Furr of Locust; 11 grandchildren, Jared Byrum (Ashley), Walker Byrum, Will Rounsville, Sarah Rounsville, Savannah Medlin, Elijah Medlin, Logan Greene, Lincoln Greene, Lawson Greene, Colton Furr, and Myles Furr; and sisters, Manie Hinson of Monroe and Annette (Randy) Greene of Mint Hill.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Hinson family.
