Timothy Dale Blair

Timothy Dale Blair, peacefully passed into heaven, on Saturday June 14, 2025. He was at his home in Indian Trail, NC, with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family, and all of the many lives he has touched. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Faith Blair, brother, Steve Blair, and nephew Chris Blair.

Tim is survived by his wife Deborah “Debbe” Blair; daughter Talia Blair (Josh Bhikoo); sons Nicky Wallace (Shelly) and Jeff Wallace (Carla); grandchildren, Timothy Wallace (Jacqueline), Jordan Wallace (Timothy Saunders), and Emmaline Crowder (Gabe); sisters, Nancy Kurtz (Richard), Georgia Fout (Kerry), and sister-in-law, Lois Blair; nephews and nieces, Mike Blair, Scott Blair (Jolene), Glenda Seibold (Dale) and children, Chad Lowery and children, Dustin Fout (Melissa) and children, Sierra Smith (Zach) and children, Dylan Fout (Kayla) and children.

Tim was born in Columbus, November 5, 1951; growing up in London, Ohio, and graduating from London High School in 1970. These years were filled with sports (football and baseball), sheep, 4-H, and FFA.

In 1970, Tim then joined the United States Peace Corp and completed training in Southern Utah, prior to his assignment in Huancayo, Peru. He was tasked with training the local farmers by providing knowledge about new farming techniques for both crops and animal husbandry. (His love of helping people and the South American culture was seen later in his life as he went on over 14 mission trips to Bolivia and Ecuador.) At the end of his three-year service he took classes at Southern Utah University and Utah State University to pursue a degree in Agriculture Education, he decided he wanted to return to Ohio to teach, therefore he took his last courses at The Ohio State University. He completed his student teaching in Ohio and secured his first teaching position at Perkins High School in Sandusky. After a big blizzard in Ohio, Tim decided to move his young family to a warmer climate, and he received an offer for a soccer coaching and agriculture teacher position in North Carolina. He decided to give it a try in the 1978-79 school year; and as they say, the rest is history. He immediately began sharing his love of agriculture and sheep with the small rural community of Union County. As the years passed, he became a vital part of North Carolina Agriculture, by interacting with agriculture extension agents, 4-H, North Carolina Sheep Breeders Association, a sheep show judge, and FFA Advisor.

Tim was one of the founding coaches of the wrestling program at Piedmont in the 80-81 school year, this began a legacy. The success of the program included multiple individual and team state champions and various wrestlers earning scholarships to compete in college.

Tim’s true passion in life included helping a person in need, traveling, and keeping God First.

The memorial service will be on Thursday June 19th at Piedmont High School Gymnasium beginning at 5:30 in the evening.
