Thomas Alan "Tommy" Brooks, 68 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle.
"Tommy" was born March 10, 1946 in New York to the late Thomas Jason Brooks and the late Carmen Rita Mendez Brooks. He was also preceded in death by half brother, Jason George Brooks.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 1:00 on Tuesday at Stanly Gardens of Memory, officiated by Rev. Steve Barbee.
Survivors include two half sisters, Patricia Yamelski of New Jersey and Joyce McLaughlin, and a treasured friend who also served as his guardian, Sherry H. Barbee of Oakboro.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Brooks family.
