Terry Dale Bishop, 67, passed away peacefully December 31, 2025, surrounded by family.

Terry was born July 11, 1958, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Richard Malcom Sr. and Sybil Lona Bishop. He was the fourth son of five boys, Richard M. Bishop Jr., Ronald, Donald, and Randy.

Terry spent his career working as a lighting director for multiple television evangelical ministries whose goal was to spread the gospel near and far and share the love of Christ Jesus. He also freelanced as a lightning director for local television news stations, movies, commercials and many other productions.

Terry was a devoted member of Gleaning Mission Church in Oakboro. Terry’s greatest wish was to have everyone he met know the love of Jesus.

Beyond his work and accomplishments, his greatest joy and calling were found in Jesus and in his family. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, and Papa.

A visitation will be Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 3:00 - 3:45 p.m., at Gleaning Mission Church, 21413 East Eighth Street, Oakboro, North Carolina, with the funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Wes Barbee and Reverend Steve Barbee. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall where a meal will be provided.

Visitation will also be Monday, January 5, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the mausoleum chapel at Cannon Memorial, 1150 North Main Street, Fountain Inn, South Carolina. The graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Dennis Stone.

He is survived by his wife, Bridget; father, Richard Malcom Bishop Sr.; brothers, Ronald Bishop (Kathy) and Donald Bishop (Cindy); daughters, Tiffany Goins (Keith), Tami Roberts (Christopher), and Samantha Courtney (Andrew); sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sybil Lona Bishop, and his two brothers, Richard M. Bishop Jr. and Randy Bishop.

He will be greatly missed by many.
