Terri Puckett

May 18, 1956 — November 30, 2022

Concord

Terri Fay Puckett, 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Terri was born May 18, 1956 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Ralph George Benedetto and Annie Fay Benedetto. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark Badon Puckett, Sr. and her son Mark Badon Puckett, Jr.

Married at just 18 years of age, Terri spent many years living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a fan of the Saints, Mardi Gras and Kings Cakes. In later years, she and her family moved several times to different states. In 2006, she and her daughter moved to North Carolina to be closer to family. Calling Kinston home, she made new friends and explored new opportunities to make a difference by joining the Red Cross and helping with BJ Murphy’s election. She was never shy to share her political beliefs and spar in an online debate but she had a huge heart. After leaving Kinston for new adventures in South Carolina, her health issues would eventually get the better of her, and she spent her last few years living with her daughter, son-in-law and three grandsons.

Terri loved reading, her dogs and horror movies, and although she didn’t consider herself artistic, she excelled at the the art of cooking. Her favorite activity was cooking for her loved ones, especially on the holidays. You would catch her in flip flops all year round, and if you knew her, you knew she was definitely not a fan of snow. She loved her family and friends and was known for her wicked sense of humor. Being a Nina to her grandchildren was the highlight of her life. She was a big sister, mother and grandmother, expecting her first great-grandchild in December. She will be missed by many.

Terri is survived by her daughter, Staci Puckett and husband, Durrell Peele of Concord; her grandchildren, Landis Peele, Lennon Peele, Duke Peele, Aidyn Puckett, Bradley Puckett and Jonathan Hebert; her siblings, Sandy Hull and Ralph Benedetto.

The family will celebrate her life privately. Donations may be made in Terri’s memory to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
