Teresa Garmon Seymour

Teresa “Terry” Garmon Seymour, 63, of Rockwell, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Terry was born on August 11, 1962, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, to the late John Franklin Garmon and Betty Jo Cook Garmon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronnie Allen Seymour, and her sister, Wanda Garmon.

Terry was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend whose life was defined by her unwavering love, kindness, and devotion to family and friends. Over the last 19 years, her favorite and most cherished role was that of Nana. Her grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Through her warmth, support, and endless love, she touched the lives of all who knew her and left behind a legacy of love that will be remembered for generations.

Terry is survived by her two daughters, Ashley "Nikki" Garmon and Candace Danielle Ayala; her son-in-law, Hector Ayala Jr.; her brother, Christopher M. Garmon; and her seven beloved grandchildren, Julianna Ayala, Draelo Shumake, Crayton Ayala, Emma Ayala, Benjamin Ayala, Kamden Garmon, and Hadley Garmon. She cherished each of them deeply and took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish.

Terry's celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 4100 David Cox Road, Charlotte. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Terry to join them in remembering her life, sharing memories, and celebrating the legacy she leaves behind.
