Terance James Christian

Terance (T.J.) James Christian, 4, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.

T.J. was born November 28, 2019, in North Carolina to Torri Yocum. He was also preceded in death by his great grandma, Donna Yocum and great uncle, Jim.  

T.J. was the smartest, strongest, biggest hearted child you will have ever met. He met no stranger and was obsessed with babies. Everyone that ever-met T.J. was lucky, he loved YouTube, shooting his papaw with bubbles, freezing all his nurses and papaw with his Spider-Man webs. T.J. was a lot of people's role model and superhero but was too young to realize it. He made me the mother and person that I have become today, all while healing my heart. No matter how much pain he was in, he always made sure everyone around him was okay and told them he loved them 10 times a day; even in the middle of the night. T.J. made a HUGE impact on everyone in his life. Little did he know I needed him way more than he ever needed me. He will FOREVER BE MY SUPERHERO.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm, Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by chaplain Glenn Meachum.

Survivors include mother, Torri Yocum; grandmother, Veronica Porras; grandfather; Francisco Porras; great-grandfather, James (Claudia) Yocum; sisters, Arianna Taylor and Ava Russell; aunts, Franceska Porras and Tattiana Porras; great-aunt, Leslie (James) Humphreys; cousins, Ryan and Zach Humphreys; and great-aunt Faith (Greg) Kittle and her family.
