In Loving Memory of Sue Brooks Conner
Charlotte, NC — Sue Brooks Conner, 92, of Charlotte, peacefully passed away at her home on September 19, 2025.
Born on April 30, 1933, in Mecklenburg County, Sue was the cherished daughter of the late Brown Wilson Brooks and Grace Allen Brooks. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Edney Conner, as well as her brothers, William Allen Brooks and Joseph Russell Brooks; her sisters, Alice Brooks Biggers, Betty Brooks Helms, and Shirley Jane Brooks; and her great-grandson, Braxton Edward Smith.
Sue grew up in the Clear Creek Community, where she attended Clear Creek Elementary School and Bethel High School. She married Ed Conner and together they shared 59 wonderful years, spending their entire married life in the Clear Creek Community, where they lovingly raised their three children.
For many years, Sue served as a dedicated bookkeeper for Exxon Corporation. Her passions included her church, cooking, and actively participating in her children's school activities. Above all, Sue's greatest love was for her family and friends, whom she cherished deeply.
Sue is survived by her son, Eddie Allen Conner of Charlotte; her daughter, Pamela Joy Conner and her husband, Robert Liggett, of Rock Hill, SC; and her son, Timothy Ronald Conner of Charlotte. She also leaves behind three granddaughters: Michelle Dellinger Pagani and her husband, Christopher Pagani, of Charlotte; Kristen Grace Conner and husband Marty Shirey of Concord, NC; and Megan Conner Smith and her husband, Donnie Smith, of Albemarle, NC. Additionally, Sue is survived by her great-grandsons: Brayden Christopher Smith, Brodie Paxton Smith, and Gannon Allen Shirey; as well as her great-granddaughter, Brantleigh Sue Smith.
A memorial service celebrating Sue’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Dulins Grove Church, 11200 Arlington Church Road, Charlotte NC. There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service.
Sue will be laid to rest following the service at the Dulins Grove Church Cemetery. The family invites friends to join them for a time of fellowship immediately following the committal service in the church fellowship hall.
Sue Conner’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
