Stephen Charles Smith,65, of Concord, passed away peacefully at Tucker Hospice House on October 20, 2012 after a brief illness. He will be greatly missed. Steve was born on May 24, 1947 in Middletown, NY, to the late Edwin and Jane Smith. Steve was also raised by his step mother Dorothy Smith. He graduated from Middletown High School, where he was a avid wrestler, in 1965. Steve served his country in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Korea. He was a avid bowler throughout his life. He scored several perfect 300 games and was inducted into the Middletown Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1993. Steve loved all kinds of sports. Bowling and wrestling were his favorites. He also loved karaoke and had many close friends. Survivors include his son, Brad Smith and wife, Cindy, of Statesville, NC his sister, Sharon Kuehl and husband, Richard, his niece, Suzanne Kuehl Hudson and husband, Steve, nephew, Robert Kuehl, all from Rochelle, IL, step sister, Caroll Centamore and husband, George, of Albrightsville, PA, nephew, Vinny Centamore, of Woodbridge, VA. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Cynthia Smith and beloved son, Brian Smith. To honor Steve’s request, no services will be held. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to The American Diabetes Association; 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
