Stephen Lee Bowen, 62 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.
Steve was born May 30, 1952 in Stanly County to the late Marie Deese Bowen and Dr. Carl Lee Bowen, Jr. of Albemarle.
The memorial service will be 1 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Albemarle, officiated by Pastor Andy Jung. A private burial will take place at a later date at Stanly Gardens of Memory.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his brothers, David L. Bowen and wife Patricia of Panama City Beach, FL, and Bill Bowen and wife Michelle of Wilmington; sisters, Wendy Miller and husband Scott of Coronado, CA, Lynn Ogburn and husband Steve of Raleigh; nephew, Jeffery Miller of Coronado, CA; nieces, Anna Ogburn of Raleigh, Sydney and Savannah Bowen of Wilmington; and special friends, Helen Adams of Albemarle and Kathy Howard of New London.
He was a member of Albemarle Optimist Club and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a huge fan of NASCAR and wrestling.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Bethany Woods for all of their love and care shown to Stephen.
