Stephan Richard Brown, 63 years of age, of Locust, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his home.
Steve was born August 21, 1951 in Aurora, Illinois to the late Richard Eugene Brown and the late Phyllis Ann Mangas Brown.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Love's Grove United Methodist Church, 4360 Polk Ford Road in Stanfield. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jim White and Rev. Coy Blackman will follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary. The burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times the family will meet at the home of his daughter, Jennifer Lilly.
He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of nearly 30 years, Connie Marie McCoy Brown of Locust; daughter, Jennifer Lilly and husband Butch of Oakboro; son, Ashley Davis and wife Kelly of Midland; six grandchildren, Blayze, Greenlee, Taitley, Hannah, Noah, and Isaiah; sister, Susan Sanny and husband Mark of Wichita, KS.
Steve was a talented song writer and musician. He will be remembered as the leader of the band "The Peasants". He loved the sunshine, swimming at the beach and shared numerous trips to California and Hawaii with his wife Connie. Steve dearly loved his two cats, Tooters and Gracie. Steve often stated that he felt like his greatest accomplishment of his life was to help raise his stepchildren, Jennifer and Ashley.
