Sonya Burke

Sonya Johnson Burke, a loving wife and mother passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Oschner Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. She was 59 years old and resided in Concord, NC. She is survived by her husband, John Burke; three sons, Jeremy Gerald and wife, Ava of Baton Rouge, Travis Burke and wife, Amanda, Austin Burke and fiancée, Karen Penninger; daughter, Ashley Burke; grandchild, Eleanor Elizabeth Burke, all of Concord, North Carolina; parents, Charles Valmond Johnson Sr. and Norma Johnson of Central City; nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Johnson Jr. and sister-in-law, Karen Johnson, both of Walker, LA.

Visitation will be at 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, officiated by Rev. Mike Lupo.
