Shirley Yow Penninger

Shirley Yow Penninger, 77, of Concord, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born October 12, 1948 in North Carolina to the late John Bucky Yow and the late Eula B Yow.

She was also preceded in death by brother Bucky David Yow.

Shirley was married to her high school sweetheart for 61 years, a love that remained strong and steady throughout her life. She worked as a Housekeeper, but to the families she served she was so much more, a trusted presence, a helping hand, and a comforting part of their everyday lives. Shirley loved her children and grandchildren above all, each one held a special place in her heart.

The family will receive friends from 3pm-4pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Roberta Church. A Celebration of Life will follow at 4pm at the church officiated by Rev. Chad Iron.

Survivors include husband, Clifford Penninger; daughters Tammy (Chuck) Weddington and Angie Fleming; grandchildren Kacey Weddington, Mitch (Rachel) Weddington and Kayla (Roger) Lester also left to cherish her memory is her six great grandchildren Karlee, Blakelee, Maggie, Walker, Jayce and Mason.

Memorials may be made to Roberta Church, Alzheimer's Association and Hospice of Cabarrus County.
