Shelby Jean Shoe

Shelby Jean Shoe, 88, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026, at Atrium Health Stanly Hospital in Albemarle.

She was born on December 6, 1937, in North Carolina to the late Fitzhugh Thompson and the late Bertie Thompson.

She was also preceded in death by her sister Delores Hatley and brother Marty Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm, Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The Graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Neill Shaw.

Shelby was a member of Salem Methodist Church. Shelby, known to many as "Auntie" loved to work in her yard, planting flowers and decorating for each season. She enjoyed doing crafts and taking trips to her favorite places in the mountains.

She was a loyal and devoted wife for 66 years to her husband George, and to others she was truly generous and had a caring heart. Above all she loved the Lord and her family and will be sincerely missed by many.
