A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Sharri Lynn Davis McMillian, passed away on April 15, 2024, at her home in Stanfield at the age of 63.
Sharri was born on April 11, 1961, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Johnny Lee Davis and the late Martha Ann Davis.
Known for her thoughtful and friendly nature, Sharri cared for people in many ways. From the medical field to her family and friends, Sharri was defined by her commitment, support, and the uplifting of people everywhere. A nurturer at heart, she loved to make sure people were included, celebrated, well-fed, and loved. For both family and friends, Sharri was intentional about building and maintaining relationships with those important to her. In a fast-paced world, Sharri stood out as someone who always found a way to make sure you knew she was thinking of you. Despite her complex health challenges, Sharri looked outward, focusing and tending to others, and her incredible will power was enabled by the fact that others benefitted from her being in their lives. Deeply empathetic, Sharri’s ability to connect with others was unique, exemplified by the enjoyment she found in finding and giving the perfect present to those she loved. Sharri’s greatest joy came in the form of her two grandkids, whose glee and humor mirrored hers.
The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on April 24, 2024, at Love’s Grove Methodist Church, 4360 Polk Ford Road in Stanfield, NC 28163. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jim White. The inurnment will be in the church cemetery at a later date.
Sharri is survived by her husband, Harper Lee McMillian, Jr., son, John (Jennifer) McMillian. Also surviving are her two grandsons, Harper and Leo McMillian.
