On March 1st, 2026, Sharon Huneycutt Wade departed this earth, entering heaven into the waiting, loving arms of her husband, Stephen Lawrence Wade. Her arrival was welcomed by those who went before her, her mother, Joyce Hatley Huneycutt, father, Gilbert Edward Huneycutt, and sister, Edith Huneycutt. Although it must have pained her, she left behind two daughters, Jennifer Wade Clemmer (Robert) and Shannon Wade Morales (Gerry), two wonderful grandsons, Jacob and Ayden Clemmer, and a multitude of people whose lives she touched.
Before children and a long career in teaching, she was first loved and will be missed beyond measure by her sister, Lucille Furr, her three brothers, Ed, Oron, and Lowell Huneycutt, and her honorary sister and best friend, Patricia Clemmer. Her beautiful smile, sparkling eyes, sharp wit, Huneycutt stubbornness, and unexpectedly spicy humor will be sorely missed by those who loved her most and best.
Until we see you again, mama. We love you and we'll be careful.
A private viewing for immediate and close family will be held on Thursday, March 5th, from 4 to 6pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle.
All are invited to attend a loving graveside service the following day, Friday, March 6th, at 1pm at the cemetery of Canton Baptist Church, Albemarle.
