Sarah Jane Yates

Sarah Jane McClure Yates, 83, of Concord, NC went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Sarah was born December 18, 1942 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Elmer McClure and the late Bessie "Louise" Brown McClure. She was also preceeded in death by her husband, Vernon W. Yates in 2017; brother, James McClure; sister, Mary "Sis" Furr and brother, David McClure. 

Survivors include daughter, Tammy Geddings; son, Scott Yates and wife Susan, daughter, Terri Llewellyn and husband Rusty; daughter, Cindy Yates and husband Scott Plyler; sister, Sue Deese and husband Jerry; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; and a host of loving nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. 

Sarah retired from the Cabarrus County School system after serving many years in the school cafeterias. She was very invloved in the local DAV Chapter 27 while serving in the Ladies Auxillary. Graciously opening her home to the children of her family and friends, sarah provided daycare for numerous children in the area. She will be dearly missed by all thise who knew her and loved her.
