Sandra Anne Wallace

Sandra Anne Wallace, 83, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle. She was born in New York on October 5, 1940, to the late Norman Paparo and the late Margaret Cicci Paparo. Sandra was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Martin Edward Wallace.

Sandra was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her warm and caring nature made her a beloved figure in our lives. She possessed an unwavering love for her family and friends, and we are truly blessed to have had such a fantastic woman in our lives.

Sandra had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her joy. She was passionate about playing bingo and engaging in card games such as poker and blackjack. Television shows were another source of enjoyment for Sandra, with her favorite being "Days of Our Lives," which featured her beloved family member, William Utay. She also had a fondness for criminal justice, mystery shows, and the timeless comedy series, "The Golden Girls."

Throughout a significant portion of her life, Sandra worked as a talented and dedicated hairdresser. She took immense pride in her work, and her clients appreciated her skill and attention to detail. Seeing the happiness her work brought to others brought joy to Sandra's own heart. She was a source of inspiration and admiration for her commitment and passion.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dava Ann Sierra/Wallace of Albemarle, NC; Son-in-law, Jesse Sierra of Albemarle, NC; daughter, Genene Wallace of Orange County, California; grandson, Zachuary Wallace; brother, Michael Paparo of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Constance Lynch; brother-in-law, Alfred Lynch of Riverside, California; sister, Susan Utay; and brother-in-law, William Utay of Los Angeles, California.

The Wallace family has entrusted Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle with the arrangements.

Sandra will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, kindness, and vibrant spirit will forever live on in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.
