Roy Helms

Roy Lee Helms, 90, of  Polkton, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Wadesboro Health and Rehab in Wadesboro, North Carolina.

Roy was born April 1, 1932, in Anson County, to the late James Edgar Helms and the late Cora Jane Helms. He was preceded in death by wife, Rachel Price Helms.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Gene Helms, and sister Louise White.  Roy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Roy was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather.  He was a devoted Christian and loved his church family at New Home Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 15, 2022, at New Home Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 12:00 pm, at New Home Baptist Church in Peachland, officiated by Rev. Scott Baucom. Burial will follow at the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery at 1617 New Home Church Road, Peachland, North Carolina.

Survivors include daughter, Karen Lowe of  Surfside Beach, and her husband, John. Daughter, Sandra Threatt of Polkton, and her husband, Billy; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and brother, Kenneth Helms, and his wife, Pat Helms.
